Our Story

Chillwavve Records started as a YouTube channel in 2006 for showcasing some of the founder's favorite music, originally under the name b0ttlesUp. After YouTube started becoming a larger entity and started focusing on copyrights, the channel was taken down due to too many claims from uploading popular music. Reborn as Chillwavve in 2015, the new channel rose from the ashes of b0ttlesUp and started uploading music from friends and smaller artists with permission to avoid copyright issues, and has now grown into one of the largest YouTube channels for showcasing music from smaller bands to a larger audience.

After long talks about turning Chillwavve into an official record label, we pressed tapes for our first release, "You're Only Made of Moonlight," a phenomenal emo pop EP by the Syracuse band, closure. Since then, we have only been growing our roster of bands we truly believe in and are so excited to help our wonderful fans get their music out there and cultivate all the attention they deserve.
